Swivel Joints
Swivel joints are precision components for the connection between stationary pipes (or hoses) and rotating parts of machines. The function is the transport of gaseous, liquid or semi-solid substances (e.g. oil, steam, cooling liquids) from and to machines. They are also used in movable pipe systems, like swiveling pipe systems, or loading arms and as reduction of mechanical forces on hose and are an important construction element.
AAR International’s range of swivel joints is the ideal solution for applications where easy handling, operational safety, and durability are required. Our range of swivel joints is capable of handling a wide range of gasses and fluids and is on field repairable.
Long-sweep Swivel Joints have extra-long radius elbows for better flow characteristics. Dual and tri-race ball bearing Swivel Joints are matched to load capacities and service conditions. All joints are specially heat treated to achieve optimal hardness and all materials meet ASTM and / or AISI standards with 100% quality control and testing. Sour gas Swivel Joints are manufactured keeping in mind the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) and the American Petroleum Institutes (API) standard.
Availability
- Eight short radius Swivel Joint styles and configurations are available.
- Threaded, integral wing union, beveled for welding or flanged end connections are available.
- Sizes available 1” to 4” furnished with high nitrile packing and brass or stainless steel ring.

High Pressure Low Radius Swivel Joints
High pressure low radius swivel joints are designed for the critical service conditions that exist in fracturing, cementing, acidizing, and well testing. They are available in ¾” to 4” sizes with 3000 and 6000 psi working pressure. They come with 1502, 1002, and 602 union ends for fast, easy make-up.
Superior hardened ball races insure uniform surface hardness and depth for longer life under severe thrust and radial loading Standard swivel joints are provided with API line pipe threads. All sizes are available in eight styles, for 360° rotation in one, two or three planes. All component parts and all styles of the HP-6,000 are interchangeable with similar parts by other major manufacturers.

Extra High Pressure Long Sweep Swivel Joints
Tri-race, long radius swivel joints are designed for the critical service conditions that exist in fracturing, cementing, acidizing, and well testing. They are available in TLR (2”), T3 (3”), and T4 (4”) sizes with up to 15,000 psi working pressure and are tested to pressure of 22,500 psi (1.5xnscwp). They come with 1502 unions for fast easy makeup.
- Long radius design provides lower vibration and reduced abrasion in corrosive, high rate pumping applications.
- Precision machined from forged alloy materials that are heat treated for longer service life.
- Three ball bearing raceways that more evenly share moment loads.
- Elastomeric instream packings that are compatible with today’s fluids and designed to stay in place even in high velocity applications.
